One common mistake that people make is relying only on cardio exercises when trying to lose weight. It’s important for us to understand that all exercises burn calories, whether it’s cardio, weight training, or sports. They’re all physical activities that require exertion and therefore burn calories--albeit at different rates. I recommend that you combine cardio exercises and weight training for best results in your weight loss.
Women tend to shy away from weight training exercises for fear of becoming too muscular. Now, there’s a big difference between being ripped (or toned) and being bulky. To have a well defined figure, you should lift moderate but challenging weights. Follow this suggestion, maintain a healthy and calorie-wise diet, and you will not become big and bulky. I can’t emphasize this enough--you must incorporate weight training into your program.
